SP1010-High tem. protection IC announced

The SP1010 is the protection IC for Li-ion/Polymer rechargeable battery in high temperature storage environment. This chip can reduce the battery swelling effect and effectively slow down the capacity deterioration when the batteryis stored in high temperature situation. 
 

SP1010 is composed of voltage detectors, a reference unit, a multiplexer, and a logic unit. The battery protection circuit is used for battery temperature detection and battery supply voltage detection. The circuit will automatically discharge the battery to prevent the battery become damaged when ambient temperature reaches to the designed threshold range and the battery voltage is higher than the detection voltage threshold voltage. The chip can has two start-discharging temperature thresholds 50°C or 60°C if the host device is off or on status via Enablesignal.
 

An external resistor with negative temperature coefficient is used for temperature detection.  The other two external resistors are used for battery voltage threshold setting.
